Background Of The Novel "Arah Langkah" By Fiersa Besari

Abstract

This study aims to describe the setting of place, setting of time and social setting in Fiersa Besari's novel Arah Langka. This study is included in the type of qualitative descriptive research. The data used as the object of study are sentences, clauses, phrases and words that refer to the setting of place, setting of time and social setting in Fiersa Besari's novel Arah Langkah. To analyze the data, the author uses the structural approach theory.

The results of this study can be described by the author that Fiersa Besari's novel Arah Langkah contains a setting that includes the setting of place, including in the expressions 1). "I arrived at the Leuwi Panjang terminal". 2). The setting of time is seen in the expression "We just arrived at six in the evening and it's already quite dark". 3). The social setting is found in the expression "A small child threw a noodle container into the sea". Based on the results of the background research, it can be concluded that the setting of place is found more often while the setting that is least is the social background.
